Committed to High Standards in Veterinary Surgery

surgery

Peninsula Center Pet Hospital provides surgical services and comfortable post-operative care for our canine and feline patients. As a member of AAHA, our veterinary hospital is committed to a high standard of care for every surgical patient.

Surgery & Your Pets

Safety and attention to detail are critical to a successful surgical experience. Prior to any surgical procedure, we perform a complete physical exam and recommend pre-anesthetic blood work to determine the animal’s general health status and ability to tolerate anesthesia.

Throughout the surgery, we monitor blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, and blood oxygen levels. Monitoring continues until our patient is alert and fully recovered from anesthesia. Pain management is critical to proper healing, and all patients are discharged with a plan to address post-operative pain.

Spay & Neuter for the Health of Your Pets

Peninsula Center Pet Hospital will discuss recommendations tailored just for your pet. Millions of homeless dogs and cats are euthanized in shelters every year for want of a home. Spaying or neutering can help reduce these senseless deaths while providing a healthy advantage to your special pet.

A friend recommended Dr. Peggy Herrera so I brought my big fat pit bull Lily to see her. I could tell immediately that she was the vet I would stick with. She may not always be warm and fuzzy but I am not there for a social hour, I am there for health services for my dogs. I really like the kind of service and advice I get there and will not be switching vets any time soon. If you want straight-forward advice and traditional veterinary care then go see Dr. Peggy. She is accessible and knows her stuff. -Melisa Sanchez
