GISELLE MAYER
DVM
Medical Director & CEO

Dr. Mayer was born and raised in Miami, FL. From an early age, she discovered her love for animals. Her parents let her keep any little creature she found and she has fond memories of helping lost turtles after Florida rainstorms. Also, her favorite elementary school teacher helped foster her interests by encouraging students to take home and care for classroom pets. The love for animals and science that developed in this early time pointed Dr. Mayer in the direction of Veterinary medicine.

Starting at the age of 14, she began volunteering any free time she had in veterinary hospitals. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Florida International University before moving to California to pursue a career in Veterinary medicine. After completing a 2-year registered veterinary technician program, she went on to earn a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences in 2011. Upon graduation, she moved to the South Bay, where she has worked as a general practitioner, helping local pets ever since.

On June 5, 2018 Dr. Mayer became the owner of Peninsula Center Pet Hospital. She is excited for this new stage in her career. Caring for pets and the people that love them is her highest priority. She truly loves applying her knowledge and experience in this ever-changing field. Dr. Mayer has special interests in surgery and radiology.

Aside from veterinary medicine, Dr. Mayer is also an avid tennis player and hiker and has been fortunate to travel to many countries. In rare quiet moments, she loves to curl up with a good novel. Currently, she lives in Rancho Palos Verdes with her sweet dog Rusty, her loving husband Eddy and their 2 great kids, Jacob and Layla.
