JENNIFER OGINO
DVM
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Ogino was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She attended the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and received her B.A. in Zoology, with a minor in History, and planned on a career in Marine Biology. However, realizing that she had a fondness for animals both in and out of the water, she then decided to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. Dr. Ogino left the tropics of Hawaii and received her veterinary degree from Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013, where she had quite the experience learning how to live in the snow! After practicing for several years at a small animal private practice in Northern California, the sun and surf called her back, and she migrated south to beautiful Southern California where she has been ever since.

In December 2020, Dr. Ogino received her certification in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine Acupuncture from Chi University in Florida. She is very excited to begin integrating acupuncture into clinical practice at Peninsula Center Pet Hospital! By combining eastern and western medicine, she strives to provide balance and longevity of health for our furry family members. Dr. Ogino's next goals are pursuing further certification in Veterinary Herbal Medicine and Veterinary Tui-na (a combination of acupressure, conventional massage, and chiropractic techniques).

Dr. Ogino enjoys doing any kind of activity on the water, most especially paddle boarding and surfing, hiking with her dog, traveling, and is an avid reader and baker. She dreams of one day completing an "Endless Summer" trip around the world. Dr. Ogino is owned by her border collie/lab retriever mix Pilikia (= trouble in Hawaiian) and sister kitties Sachiko and Sookie Stackhouse.
