In-house Laboratory and Diagnosis
The team at Peninsula Center Animal Hospital understands how important it is to get a diagnosis back to you in a timely way in order to offer the best possible care for your pet. This is due to the fact that we have a complete laboratory and diagnostic capability, including ultrasound and digital X-rays, right here in our own office. It is only because of these tools that we are able to provide your pet with the best possible health care.

Specialists such as veterinary radiologists might be called upon as required by our veterinarians.

Digital radiography (X-rays) uses electromagnetic radiation to capture pictures of your pet's bones and internal organs. In certain cases, they might indicate the extent of tooth disease and even soft tissue injury. Bone fractures and foreign substances may also be detected with these devices.

To gain a better image of what's going on within your pet, ultrasonography might be a beneficial addition to X-rays and lab testing. Your veterinarian will utilize ultrasound scans to correctly diagnose and treat your pet. You can observe soft tissue features in your pet more clearly using ultrasonic waves than with x-rays. For example, an ultrasound may be used to examine tendon or ligament injury, inspect inside your pet's internal organs or conduct procedures like biopsies or centesis.
